About Performers

The Director's Notes

For the past few years David Tuttle and Wes Thompson have been creating some very funny presentations. Last year they worked up a 90 min. show that was really great. I'm still using some of the jokes. David and Wes tend to poke fun at the classics. They have done rather hilarious versions of "The Odyssey and The Iliad", as well as the "12 Labors of Hercules". This year David is going to do a 30 min. show. He hasn't told me yet what he is going to spoof this year but I can hardly wait to see it.

Last Leaf Productions will be bringing us "The Taming of The Shrew "and "The Merry Wives of Windsor". They have been presenting full lenght Shakespear plays for many years at Greenwood Faire, and I am very pleased that they are back again.

And Speaking about Back Again,

This year we will be bringing back Animul Howse Puppet Theatre. They were new to us last year and were quite a success. I even got to play with them, which I really enjoyed. Usually I'm flying at top speed from one stage to another but their cute little animals caught my attention and I was hooked. Of course we have two more talented Puppeteers. Clay Martin brings his theater back to us this year, and our own Elly Leverton will entertain us with her version of the classic "Punch and Judy". (you can hear "That's the way you do it" from Punch and "Oh no it isn't" from the children watching the show)

With 8 stages to book we have a lot of acts and performers. There are usually 90 or more performances every day. The good news is that as of now I have most of that done. I'll write again about what some of the other acts are at another time.

2009 Season Starts

It looks as if placing the vendor applications on the Greenwood website is working. So far two vendors have already replied with their applications. There are about 7 vendors that I will have to send hard copies to as they either had their email address bounce or they don't have email at all (really, as odd as that seems.)

There is a Staff Meeting this weekend and I'm looking forward to hearing what the Performing Group Directors have planned for this year. I have already heard of some changes that will be taking place. I think that there will be a lot of innovation this year. I just realized that there is a new Director that I need to invite to the Staff Meeting. He is bringing back audience interaction with street theater. I'm really looking forward to that.

Greenwood Photo Book Voting Info

We'd like to offer a Print-on-Demand Photo book of Greenwood using the website Blurb.com. But we need your help. First of all, we've put all the pictures we can find up on this Flickr Group Pool:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/ye_merrie_greenwood_faire/

Now, what we'd like you to do is...set aside an hour...and go through theses pictures. If you find one you'd like to vote for, add it to your Faves like this:

Now, if you really REALLY like the picture and want to vote for it twice. Then add a comment like below telling us why it should get two votes:

Also, say you only want to vote for part of the picture. That's okay too--just add a note telling us what part like so:
Also, if you have some free time, we'd also love if you would tag picture with anything we've missed, like so:

Especially if you are IN the photo! Remember to put quotes around a set of words to add the right tag, like this: "Jane Doe" "Puppet Show" etc.
